SmartKem’s Chief Technology Officer Dr Beverley Brown has been interviewed by the influential Women Of Wearables website.
The Women Of Wearables (WOW) movement is a worldwide organisation that supports and connects women in wearable tech, fashion tech, the Internet of Things (IoT) and virtual and augmented reality. Its mission is to encourage more women and diverse teams to participate in building hardware and software products as designers, product managers and developers or by being founders of their own companies. WOW also wants to create more jobs for women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
In the article, Dr Brown discusses SmartKem’s groundbreaking technology and explains how it will enable new lightweight, unbreakable and ultra-thin displays for wearable devices, which require less power to run. She also discusses her own experience working within high technology businesses and in pioneering semiconductor technology.
Dr Brown said: “With more than 8,000 members the WOW network is growing fast. I’m pleased that myself and SmartKem have been able to lend our voice to this movement.”
